My name is Paolo Luciano and yes, Luciano is my last name.
I studied Applied Mathematics and I've got an M.S. in Operations Research from MIT. I'm currently working as a technical PM / scientist at a big tech company. My previous product was a simulation platform that allowed for counterfactual experimentation, a DS's dream. Currently, I'm trying to build an agentic platform that doesn't suck and lead a transition on the ways everyone works. You can find my full CV .
This blog seeks to act as a repository of my ideas & curated thoughts for an internet that’s increasingly dead. I wanted to prove myself that I could build it from scratch design it with Claude, while still learning some frontend dev. TLDR: design is way harder than coding. I was inspired by the greats, all the people I admire have a blog.
I am technical enough to understand the big ideas of recent years. I was doing AI before it was cool and won an award for it. My research at MIT involved embedding clothing items in the same way we’ve embedded language into LLMs. Nowadays, I work with researchers, engineers and extremely smart people.
On the arts front, I really know nothing, however, I like the process of creation just for the sake of it. I am learning Touchdesigner since it sits at the intersection of my interests. I designed the animation in the background. However, I’m more versed in the realm of music. I collect organize and, hopefully one day, mix music. A rave is my happy place.
Unfortunately, I do have socials. Here is my I-have-a-job GitHub my, I-was-here-first Twitter and, my corpy-Linkedin. However, the best way to contact me is shooting me an email at: p (dot) lambda (dot) function (at) the Google client.
ai disclaimer
All text and ideas on this blog are organic and ai-free. I use AI as a tool that enhances me. The code of this blog would have taken me months without it. However, I don't like the idea of outsourcing my thinking to an all-knowing AI. I believe it's our human souls which imbues meaning into creations. That's why a 5-year old drawing feels more special than a picture-perfect AI slop image. I'll write about this later.
